GKE Marquis Embarks on a Fully Automated Warehouse Journey with KEYfields
GKE Marquis is a specialist in marine logistics sector particularly in handling marine coatings and ship spares. As the Company continues to expand its operation to support its business growth, its start exploring various options to optimise the limited available space including digitisation of the process and using automation.
To solider its journey, GKE Marquis partnered with KEYfields to implement a Quicktron 4-way racking system, integrated with conveyors and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), all orchestrated by KEYfields’ Warehouse Execution System (iWES) and fully integrated with its current Warehouse Management System.
This fully integrated solution streamlines material flow across both inbound and outbound operations. With the planned 4-way racking system, GKE Marquis is able to double its throughput at the second level of its warehouse, with a reduced manpower requirements and overall working hours. By automating inbound, outbound, and picking processes, this new system is able to deliver a significant improvement in productivity whilst the automation could shorten loading and unloading times, minimises human error, and enables faster, more reliable access to stored goods.
