This coming June, Indonesia celebrates one of the biggest annual Muslim celebrations; Eid al-Fitri. The celebration marks the conclusion of the Muslim month of Ramadan; a 30-day period that requires practice of abstain from eating and drinking from sunrise to sunset.
During the celebration, people often spend their time with family and close relatives as to have large feasts and travel back to their hometown, the locals called; “Mudik”, which will be signified as a high season or peak season for traveling and transportation industries. It is also a part of the tradition to ask for forgiveness to each other and start fresh for the new journey. Many also associated this moment as a reborn and become a better self.
KEYfields Indonesia wishing all Muslims a happy and prosperous Eid. May this special day lighten up your way and lead you the happiness, success and peace.
